Because I'm a sucker for a music meme. Stolen from [livejournal.com profile] wolfteaparty :)

1. Open up your music player. Hit shuffle.
2. Record the first few lines of the first 25 songs that come up.
3. Skip instrumentals, but don't skip the embarrassing ones. (I also skipped non-English language songs.)
4. Let your f/list guess the song names and artists. Google is cheating.
5. Cross out the songs that have been guessed.
6. Pass it along.

The problem with my music collection as I have so much stuff, I doubt I'd even recognize half of it if it was on random. But I am obeying the rules because, frankly, I thought maybe there'd be some cool lyrics, and just because I don't know them doesn't mean you don't!

Answers can now be found in the comments! I posted the whole list since it's been months since this was posted.

From [livejournal.com profile] kenzie:

Here are the rules: 1. You give the titles of five songs you WISH were written about/for you. 2. Your friends comment with a line or two from one/some of the songs that actually do remind them of you, and you make sure to leave them comments when they post the meme.
(I'm changing the rules to ANY lyrics from ANY song, though)

1) Depeche Mode "Somebody"
2) Damien Rice "The Blower's Daughter"
3) Ben Folds "The Luckiest"
4) Nick Cave "Into My Arms"
5) Built to Spill "The Weather"

Pick 10 movies that you enjoy.
Pick a line of dialogue that you like.
As people guess the film, strike out that entry.
NO cheating

1) I remember thinking to myself: So, this is the beginning of happiness. This is where it starts. And of course there will always be more. It never occurred to me it wasn't the beginning. It was happiness. It was the moment. Right then.
[THE HOURS]

2) There's nothing too small. You know when police find the slightest piece of DNA and build a case on it? We might see you floss or masturbate that could be the key to your entire reality.
[I <3 HUCKABEES]

3) Love humiliates you. Hatred cradles you.
[WHITE OLEANDER]

4) A little nonsense now and then and relished by the wisest men.
[WILLY WONKA]

5) You poop into my butt hole and I poop into your butt hole... back and forth... forever.
[ME AND YOU AND EVERYONE WE KNOW]

6) I did nothing. I did absolutely nothing, and it was everything I thought it could be.
[OFFICE SPACE]

7) Oh, well there's nothing wrong with G-rated movies, as long as there's lots of sex and violence.
[ELVIRA: MISTRESS OF THE DARK]

8) In one way or another I've always suffered. I didn't know why exactly. But I do know that I'm not so scared of suffering now. I feel more than I've ever felt and I've found someone to feel with.
[SECRETARY]

9) You should be kissed, and often, and by somebody who knows how.
[GONE WITH THE WIND]

10) In a musical, nothing dreadful ever happens.
(and since no one is guessing it I will just give it to you...)[DANCER IN THE DARK]

Because I am just waiting for my laundry to be done right now...why not a meme?

The Rule is that you take a picture from the first page of Google Images results.

I missed a bunch of them, so I am impressed I got such a high score, all that time I wasted yesterday on iTunes looking at 80's music DID pay off.

I ended up talking to Aleks on the phone last night for 2 hours, so now I gotta pick up the slack on this paper. Oye. Why is it that I always get words in my head that seem to flow or feel right to use in a paper but I KNOW would be inappropriate?

Last year I had to have Jason L. talk me out of describing AJ Ayer's system of philosophy the "disembowlment" of proper philosophy because he said that was inappropriate. Today he told me "melee" was probably not a proper word to use to describe most philosophers view of the use of metaphor. I told him that the world that i REALLY wanted to use was "poo-poo" (as in "they poo poo the idea"), and he ended up laughing out loud at work. Oops. I also think I have used the word "detrimental" in almost every paper I have written in the past year. What is it with me and that word?
