I, of course, chose the chestnut mare because it was the only one listed as a mare. Gotta have female solidarity while kicking ass.

My friend just showed me this game last night. She's got a cute character. I told her to say hi, b/c she's on LJ as well. I may start playing.

That friend would be me. My husband and I have characters on , well, mostly Spinebreaker but we have characters all over. We even have a site for our Guild (www.piratesyndicate.com).
I think you helped convince Stacy that she needs to play. But stace, you dont get a chance to get a mount until level 40 and they arent cheap (well, cause of a patch they are only 9 gold but the riding skill is somewhere near 90. Epic mounts and riding skill, level 60, are around 1000 gold and thats what expensive)

Yeah, they are expensive, and it's a pain being a lowbie now that most people are all lvl 60 because nothing I have is something they want because they need higher level stuff. That's why my brother ended up buying the mount for me because it would have taken me forever to get that sort of money.

My characters are on Perenolde. Asherah and Apriora.

Yeah, my husband bought me my mount but since then, I've made some decent money. once you hit 60, it is easier to get money cause you are always doing raids that you can get some equipt that you can sell and decent amounts of gold from doing quests. There are things you can do at lower levelslike certain professions(mining), make sure you pick up certain items from mobs, to make some money.
Now that I am int he 50's, my skills are so expensive, I need 17 gold just to raise 3 of them. But honestly, it is a way easier game to make money on then say FFXI. It is hard making money there that is why they have so many people who sell it on the net.

None are listed as stallions...they just say "brown horse", "pinto horse", etc. I liked the brown, and the mare didn't look much different, so I went with her.

It's a fun game, I just am not sure it's worth the money to play (you have to have a subscription to play) since I don't play that much. But it was a gift, so I never see the bill.
