Cell Phone Woes

I'm frustrated.
I've been doing some research on-line about getting a new cell phone and am pretty sure I found what I wanted. I am currently with Sprint and have been happy with them. They seem to offer the lowest monthly rates and offer more flexibility as far as if you need more minutes or extra features, which I appreciate. I can easily add 200 free txts to my plan by paying a few more dollars a month, and I like it that way, better than picking a premium package like some other carriers require and then getting a bunch of features I won't ever use.
My phone died this weekend but I am within a week of when my contract runs out anyway so I thought this would be a great opportunity to upgrade and get a phone with a keyboard which is something I've wanted for a while now. I am not a major phone user though. Most phones with keyboards have tons of features I don't need. I don't care about a camera or an MP3 player or access to movies and videos or even the internet. I don't use my phone for those things, all I want my phone for is making calls and txt messaging. I don't want to get a Palm or a Blackberry as those are bigger than I need because they offer so many features. So there are only a few phones available that have the keyboard but aren't one of those. I'd like to stay with Sprint, and if I did that my option would be a LG Rumor which is pretty much exactly what I need. BUT, it's also pretty much sold out nationwide and I have no idea when it will next be available. Of course, this is also because I am being picky and want the white one but the Sprint website still has the black one in stock, but it has a tacky blue keyboard and if I am going to have this phone for 2 more years at least, I don't want to hate it.
I've started looking at other carriers just to see what their options are because maybe they'll have something so great it will be worth switching, specifically Verizon because my parents are with them and I might be able to get some sort of family deal. But the monthly bills would still probably be higher so I am not sure it'd be worth it. Anyway, I just really don't like being without a phone, it sucks. So I am trying to figure out what to do about it and it's frustrating when you know exactly what you want but you can't get it because it's not in stock.
