Songs to kill yourself to...
Apr. 11th, 2006 03:52 amI make no qualms about my love of melancholy music. Some people absolutely cannot handle sad music, I live for it. It's so beautiful, and when I am melancholy (not depressed, it's different) I feel much closer to the world than I do on an average day.
A few years ago I made a mix of some of the most beautifully sad songs I knew and put them on a CD together for my sad nights. I was listening to it in the kitchen one morning when my mother walked in and said "whoa, Anne, how can you listen to this? it makes me want to kill myself!"...And to this day I now call it my "Suicide Mix", heh. Only a few of the tracks below are ones that were also on the original Suicide Mix, but I just felt like compiling some great sad mood songs together. I don't condone suicide, but I do condone the music. Hopefully some of you can also see their beauty.
Azure Ray - "November"
Damien Rice - "The Blower's Daughter" (YouSendit)
Tori Amos - "Hey Jupiter" (YouSendit)
Evanescence - "Hello" (YouSendit)
Sinead Lohan - "Everything Around Me Is Changing" (YouSendit)
Jen Wood - "Imperfect" (YouSendit)
The Cardigans - "03:45 No Sleep" (YouSendit)
Martha Wainwright - "I Will Internalize"
Emm Gryner - "For What Reason" (YouSendit)
Gary Jules - "Mad World" (YouSendit)
